The rules will be available at all venues!
GENERAL RULES
1. All team members must have the same colored jerseys with numbers.
2. Players can
only play on one team, in the same division, per tournament.
3. Players must be in the score-book for your 1st
tournament game to be eligible for the rest of the tournament.
4. Sportsmanship:
We reserve the right to to disqualify individuals or entire teams for unsportsmanlike conduct.
5. HooptimeTournaments:
Is not responsible for players, coaches or fans that might become injured during the course of participation in the game of
basketball.
PLAYING RULES:
HooptimeTournaments: Is governed by the National Federation
High School Rule book except for the following ammendments:
1. Game Clock: Games will consist of Four-10 minute Quarters.
The last 2 minutes of the second and 4th quarters
will be played
with a stopped clock.
* If there is a foul
shooter within the last second(s) of the 1st and 3rd quarters, the clock will stop
until
the ball becomes live again.
2. Time Outs: 3 per game.
1 additional timeout for the 1st overtime only.
3. Overtime: The 1st overtime
will be 2 minutes of stopped time. After the 1st overtime period, we will go into
"Sudden Death" play, with the first team to score
being declared the winner.
4. Full Court Press: No press with a lead of 15
points. 5-8th grade only.
5. Technical Fouls: Automatic 2 points plus
possession of the ball.
Players and coaches are ejected after two technical fouls.
6. Girls Only: There will be a 10 second back court count if a 30 second shot clock
is not in use.
7. Mercy Rule: The clock will continue with running time with
a 20 point lead in the last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter. If the lead gets back to 15 points, the clock will go back
to stop time.
